KIRBY QUICK CARE WALK-IN CLINIC REPLACES KIRBY CONVENIENT CARE

“Kirby Quick Care” has replaced the Convenient Care, previously located within the
Emergency Department, at Kirby Medical Center. Kirby Quick Care is now available within
the Kirby Medical Group from 7AM – 6PM, Monday through Thursday and 7AM – 4PM on
Friday.

Kirby Quick Care is available for typical ailments like ear aches, sore throats, and minor
sprains and strains, as examples. All patients are welcome, regardless of insurance plan or the
patient’s primary care physician.

“We’ve found that most insurance plans were recognizing our Convenient Care as an Urgent
Care; not as a physician clinic visit. Kirby Quick Care will be billed as an office visit and people
will find it much more economical,” says Steve Tenhouse, Kirby Medical Center chief
executive officer, “Our Emergency Department will also always be open for patients for any
needs they have, or when patients need care after hours. Our nurses are trained to triage in
the emergency department and can offer Kirby Quick Care as an option if the patient doesn’t
have an emergent condition.”

“Our customers will find our Advanced Practice Providers at Kirby Medical Group exceptional
at providing care,” says Jennifer Moss, Kirby Medical Center chief clinical officer.
For questions related to Kirby Quick Care, please contact Julie Aubert, Kirby Medical Group
Clinic Director at (217) 762-1701.
